Ghosts

Have you ever had to go to the hospital constantly? Well in the the book Ghosts by Raina Telgemier, there is a girl named Cat who has a sister named Maya who has to go to the hospital constantly. Cat and her family are moving to Bahia de la Luna in California for Maya’s health care. Once they get home and unpack, they go for a walk and see an arcade. It is locked, but Maya finds her way in. When Cat finds her way in, a guy named Carlos says, “The ghost tour starts at three o’clock. It is two o’clock”. Maya wants to see ghosts so they go on a hill and she holds a special soda so she can see the ghosts. When Maya sees the ghosts, the ghosts cheer and call her name and then. . .actually, I think you should read this book to find out what happens.

I strongly believe that the book Ghosts by Raina Telgemier is a great book because of all the details in the pictures. For example, when Cat is on her phone, it shows you what she is texting her friends and what game she is playing. My favorite part in this book is when Cat meets the 8 year-old ghost because the ghost was super funny and because it was Carlos’ uncle. In this story, I saw a character change. Cat is the one who changed in this story because at first Cat did not want to move to Bahia de la Luna but then she liked being there because she made friends and she had a fun time at Dia de los Muertos/ Day of the Dead, which her and her family celebrated. Those are my thoughts on the book Ghosts.

I recommend this book to people who love drama because this book is filled with drama. I give this book five stars because it had so many juicy and dramatic details. I think kids ages 9 and up would like this book because it is super funny. For example, when Maya is shoving candy in her mouth. That’s my recommendation on the book Ghosts.
