The Chick and the Duckling

In the book, there are two main characters. They are a duckling and a chick. The duckling came out of his shell at the same time as the chick. Then, they dug a hole in the sand. Together they caught a worm, but they soon found out it was the same worm, just different ends. Then, they both caught butterflies. Together they caught a lot of animals by the pond where this takes place. The problem occurs when the chick falls into the water because he can't swim.

My favorite part was when Mother Duck and Mother Hen laid their eggs. I liked it because they were once babies hatching together and they are still friends.

I liked the picture of the Mother Hen and Mother Duck jumping up to catch the butterfly. I really liked the pictures. I liked the colors of duck and chick, orange and yellow. I thought they were realistic.

My favorite characters were duckling and chick. I really like ducklings and chicks. I liked that a duckling and a chick can be friends and that they liked the same things, except swimming.

I would recommend this book because it has a really good ending. Also, the friendship between the duckling and chick is really funny. I recommend this book to second graders and younger.
