This book is about two white ducks named Dibble and Dabble who are walking in the snow. They are visiting their friend Rabbit when it starts to snow. Rabbit says, "It's too cold for me out here." So Rabbit goes into his warm burrow. It starts to snow faster and Dibble and Dabble sees Tigger the cat. Tigger says, " It's too cold for me out here." He decides to go into the farmhouse. At that moment, Heron sees the ducks. He tells the ducks they need to go back to the farmyard because it's too cold to be outside. Heron flies back to his nest and the two ducks try to swim, but the river is turning to ice and now they are caught in a snowstorm. They decide to go across the field. The snowstorm becomes a blizzard and Dibble and Dabble can not see anymore. They are lost! What do you think is going to happen to Dibble and Dabble? Do you think they will die from the snow or will they find a warm place to stay? Read this book to see what happens to Dibble and Dabble! It's a great book to read!
This story reminds me of when you're in a big snow. You have too much snow, and you get lost. Your family is wondering where you are and they are worrying about you. This story teaches you a lesson. Before you go outside, look at the sky to see if it's going to snow.
What I liked about this book was that it has a happy ending and it has a snowy beginning, too. I think 1st and 2nd graders will like to read this book because it is kind of like a mystery. I think the show and the star parts would interest the readers, too.
The illustrator used water color paints to color the pages. I think the pages are like my life. It has snow, like my home in Lebanon. The pictures are colored in blue, orange, white, red, yellow, green, and purple.
