I read a book called Hank the Cowdog and the Case of the Halloween Ghost. In the beginning Hank (the cowdog) scared the cat. Then he started talking about Halloween. He said he didn't believe in Halloween. His sidekick, Drover, said he saw one pirate, two skeletons, and a witch. Of course, Hank did not believe him. In the end, Hank got the wits scared out of him and never even realized it was really Haloween.
I like Hank the Cowdog because it makes me laugh all the time. The funniest part to me is when the buzzards start singing "Buzzard Love." This cracked me up because it is unusual to hear buzzards sing and these guys are really bad singers. What is unique about the book is that it makes me think the way a dog thinks. Now my favorite character is Hank because he reminds me of Roxanne, my dog, and the way she investigates everything.
I highly recommend Hank the Cowdog and the Case of the Halloween Ghost to any kid that loves funny mysteries. You should be an excellent reader since it is a chapter book.
