The Old Woman Who Named Things

This story is a little sad, but at the end it is happy. The old woman has outlived all of her friends. She wants to get cards and letters, but she ends up getting bills. She names a lot of things, like her house, chair, bed, and car, because she knows she can never outlive them. One day a dog comes to her gate. Now the old woman has a problem. If she gets all cuddled up with him she?ll want to keep him.
I think it is interesting that the old woman names things. I name my pets and my stuffed animals. My favorite character is the little brown dog. He is shy, and I am shy when I?m meeting a new person. The illustrations are very good. They make the story clear. The pictures look realistic. The old-fashioned car almost looks like it?s smiling.
I want to leave the ending as a surprise, but I will tell you my favorite pages are at the end. If you love dogs, you should read this book.
