This story is about a young boy named Digory and a girl named Polly, who spend their time exploring new places and meeting new things. Digory's mother is sick so he lives with his Aunt Lett and his Uncle Andrew, who is a mean magician. Uncle Andrew tricks Polly and Digory into touching magic rings that will send them in to other worlds.

When they adventure off into other worlds, little do they know that a witch came too. They spend a lot of the time throughout the book trying to get her back in to her own world. They end up in a place called Narnia. Asland, a talking lion, sends Polly and Digory on a mission to get a magic apple. Suddenly the witch comes out and tries to convince Digory to give the apple to his mother to cure her. At last they get home. Does he give the apple to cure his ill mother? What comes next? You will find out if you read the book.

My favorite part of the book is when Digory is sent on the mission to get the magic apple. I liked this because you never could predict what would happen next. Also it had a lot of suspense, the author would leave you hanging at the end of the chapters.

This was a lot like other books in this series because it had the same characters as in the other books. The other book I have read in this series is The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe.

As I read this book I felt as if I could travel to other worlds. It made me think about if I had the magic rings, how I would travel to other worlds. It also made me want to go on that adventure with Polly and Digory.

My favorite character is Polly because if she had an idea, then she would insist on it until she got her way. Also she was very clever and always had a mind for adventure.

I recommend this book to everyone, because it is wonderful series and you don't know what your missing out on!
