Junie B., First Grader (At Last) by Barbara Park is a wonderful book. Junie B. climbed onto the school bus and saw Grace from kindergarten sitting next to Bobbi Jean Piper! Then Junie B. moved back and heard someone laugh, it was Herb, so she sat next to him. At school she couldn't see the blackboard so she went down to the nurse to take an eye chart test. She needed glasses. Junie B. was nervous to go back to school because she didn't want anyone to make fun of her. She worried about this until she went back to class. Will everybody in her class like her glasses or will they make fun of Junie B.? This book is fantastic! Junie does many funny things. Junie thought she saw the word cluck on the chalk board but really the word was clock. When Junie stayed in for recess the teacher wrote sentences on the chalk board but she got them all wrong! The illustrations were also wonderful! My favorite picture was when May was telling Junie to be quiet. Also, a really funny picture was when Junie and Herb sank down in their seat on the bus. The pictures were very detailed. I can relate to the story because when I got glasses I was worried about other people making fun of me. Junie B. First Grader (At Last) is a book filled with funny things, it has great illustrations and I can really relate to!
I would recommend this book to children of all ages. Junie B. is just funny and a lot of children like her. Since she just got to first grade she is funnier. This book is funny, humorous, and contains hilarious actions for all ages. I would also recommend this book to anyone who liked Junie B. Jones and a Little bit of Monkey Business. So read this book, and I promise it will be funny!
