Into the Land of the Unicorns

The tenth toll of the church bell chimed. Cara was hurrying up the tower. Who was chasing her? Dong! There went the eleventh toll! Could she make it? Dong! The twelfth toll of the bell sounded as she reached the top of the tower. She whispered, ?Luster, take me home!? There was a green light. She threw herself off the tower, and the green glow engulfed her. Why did she do this? What is Luster? You will have to read Into the Land of the Unicorns to find out!

I like the way Bruce Coville describes the scenes in the story because he tells about the scenes in great detail. The unique thing about this book is the way it goes from fantasy to reality in the same book! This book is like another book of paintings and poems called In Pursuit of the Unicorn because they both have Unicorns in them. This book is book one in the Unicorn Chronicles. I have never read any of the other books in the series, but I thought this one was really fantastic. My favorite character was Lightfoot because he has a fantastic sense of humor.

I recommend this book because it has a lot of action. I think that girls might like this better than boys. I think the authors writing style will interest readers of all ages.
