Hey, Frindle is a book that will pop your brain cells because you will think so hard wondering if frindle is a real word.
Nick, the main character has been obsessed with pens since he was a baby. He told his friends at school that the word frindle means pen. That's when things start to stir up at Lincoln Elementary School. Everyone in class starts to use the word frindle. This angers the teacher because she doesn't think it's true. Nick has a warning not to use it, but he continues to, so Mrs. Granger sends him to detention and he loses recess. Then one day Mrs. Granger finds the word frindle in the dictionary.
I think this book is funny. The main character Nick is a the class clown. Nick reminds me of me because he is obnoxious just like me. Nick likes to play practical jokes and so do I. The story takes place in a small town, and it reminds me of where I used to live-Pinedale, Wyoming.
I recommend this book to everyone! People who like a little bit of adventure, lots of action, and funny practical jokes will enjoy reading this book. It is especially recommended for grandfathers, grandmothers, dads and moms to read with their kids! I think the way Andrew Clements writes will keep you interested throughout his book. It's very unpredictable and you don't know what is going to happen next. The people I know who have read it have loved it too.
