I read the book Number The Stars by Lois Lowry. It is about a family that is part of the Resistance during World War II. The Resistance is a group that helps Jews escape. Peter Nielson is also part of the Resistance. The four most suspenseful scenes were when the Nazis broke into the Johansen?s apartment and later when Annemarie got stopped by Nazis on her way to take the package to Uncle Henrik. Another suspenseful scene was when Mrs. Johansen was gone all night. She was supposed to be back by 3:30 a.m. and was not even back by 4:30 a. m. The last suspenseful scene is when the Nazis interrupted the wake of Aunt Birte and interrogated Momma.

I thought that Peter Nielson was interesting because he is part of the Resistance and he was very brave. Annemarie changed a lot throughout the book from a silly little girl to a courageous, mature young adult. A dangerous mission that went on is to take the package to Uncle Henrik. My favorite part was when the Nazis stopped Annemarie on her way to take the package to Uncle Henrik. I wanted to find out if they were going to report her or let her go. The dogs smelled meat and the Nazis searched the basket.

I would recommend this book to anyone that likes suspense. It is during World War II in Denmark. It made the reader uncertain and would make you want to read the rest.
