In Their Own Words-Benjamin Franklin

This biography is about Ben Franklin and how he grew up to be 84 years old. He had a lot of adventures in his long lived years. He went to England and France quite a few times. He also performed a lot of experiments. He was born in 1706 and died in 1790. He is responsible for a lot of experiments and inventions that we have today.

My favorite part was in chapter 7. It was when Ben performed his kite experiment with his son William. They used a Leyden jar to collect an electrical charge to experiment with later. They tried to get a charge at least two times. They tried it with a key and without a key. The one with the key worked!

I think Ben Franklin was the most interesting character because he did a lot of experiments. Some of the people even copied some of Ben's inventions.

This book made me feel like I was a part of it. The part that I thought I was in was when he performed his kite experiment. The way the authors wrote made me feel like I was right there!

I thought Ben was a cool character. I think kids 9-20 years old would enjoy this book and learn a lot from it.
