Tony is a baker who had a dream to have a bakery of his own in Milano. Tony had a daughter named Serafina. She was old enough to get married but Tony didn't let her because he thought no man was good enough for her. A man named Angelo came. Serafina and Angelo fell in love. Angelo has a plan to make Tony have his dream come true and then marry Serafina. Will the plan work?
We liked this book because it had a good ending. It made us feel happy. Our favorite part was when Tony became a famous baker in Milano because he tried so hard to become a famous baker. We also like the part when the crowd cheers for Serafina and Angelo because they finally get married. Tomie dePaola does great artwork and writing. It reminds us of how we work to be good writers and illustrators at school.
We recommend this book to all kids in 1st to 3rd grade. We feel this way because it is a really great picture book.
