Have you ever woke up and heard something like a rustle or a breath? A girl wakes up in the middle of the night and looks outside. Guess what she sees? A deer. It is nibbling on fallen pears. The girl goes to the door while it is still dark outside. The girl sprinkles some salt into her hands. She tiptoes to the deer as quietly as a mouse. The deer is frozen while staring at her. The little girl sings a song to the deer. Read Salt Hands to see what happens between the girl and the deer.
We think the illustrations are really colorful, they make the reader feel like they are in the story. The little girl reminds me, Nataly, of my little sister because she wakes up in the middle of the night because she hears something. This book reminds me, Heather, of myself because I wake up if I hear a peep just like the little girl. This book makes us wonder if the deer will ever come back. Our favorite part is when the author describes the salt.
We recommend this book to people who wake up in the middle of the night because they hear something. We think this book would be good for people who love descriptive language. We also recommend this book to people who like to feel like they are actually in the book. If you enjoy calm stories, read this book.
