Misty of Chincoteague is a great book about two children and their love for a very special horse. The Phantom has escaped the roundup men for two years in a row; Can she again with her young colt? Paul and Maureen Beebe think not, now that Paul will be joining the men this year. In their minds Phantom is as good as theirs. They've got their hearts set on buying her. They've spent the entire summer saving up to buy her. The only problem is that they don't know about her young foal, Misty. Now they need to save up money for Misty too. But when they go to buy her they see that she and her mother both have sold ropes around their necks! They will have to rely on sheer luck to own them.
I enjoyed Misty of Chincoteague very much. Since it was about horses I liked it for that too. My favorite part of the book was when Paul was racing Phantom; I knew it would be him not Maureen that raced her. I had a lot of fun reading it and I bet you would too.
I would like to recommend this book to people who like to ride horses and enjoy horse books. If you pick it up you won't want to put it down. Boys and girls will like it. I really think that you should read this book.
