Friendship According to Humphrey

Have you ever been jealous? In this book Friendship According to Humphrey by Betty G. Birney, Humphrey is jealous of Og. First, Humphrey is the only class pet in room 26. But one day Miss Loomis comes in and hands a big box to Mrs. Brisbane with another class pet! Then, after recess there is a big tank next to Humphrey. Everyone runs over to see and no one even noticed Humphrey. Lastly, Humphrey goes over to Og. Og jumps at him and scares Humphrey. At the end of the week Humphrey thought, “ Finally something that doesn’t have to do with Og ,” Then A.J his care taker asked , “can I take Og home too?” All in all, Friendship According to Humphrey is a good book but will Humphrey and Og become friends?

Friendship According to Humphrey is a terrific book. First, it has descriptive language author describes the characters. “I’ve soft fur with inquisitive eyes and a little pink nose. Og was a sickening shade of green with bulging eyes and not one bit of fur on him,” said Humphrey. Also, its humorous. One day Kirk stuck a Post-it to Og that said help! I’m a prince that’s been turned into a frog kiss me quick! Lastly, It teaches a lesson. Don’t judge someone just because the way they act.In the book Humphrey said, “Look, I haven’t been a pal to you Og. I am sorry,” said Humphrey. All in all, Friendship According to Humphrey is an amazing book.

If you like cute problem solving hamsters then you will like Friendship According to Humphrey. Do you like books where someone is jealous? I give this book four stars for the time when people only write poems about frogs. I recommend this book for people who like animals and seeing the world from a different point of view. That is why Friendship According to Humphrey by Betty G. Birney is a great book to read.
