In Tell a Lie and Your Butt Will Grow by Dan Greenburg, Zack’s enemy is telling lies and every time he lies his butt grows. In the beginning, Zack has to choose between his two enemies to be partners with for the science fair. Then, since Andrew keeps lying, Zack takes him to the police station to check how many times he lied. Towards the end, Andrew’s butt gets stuck and then, well you will have to read the book to find out what happens in the end.
Tell a Lie and Your Butt Will Grow is a great book. This book is nonrealistic. In the story, Andrew’s butt grows and that could never happen in real life. This book tells a good lesson. In the story, Andrew’s butt grows and it teaches kids not to lie. In this book, the pictures could tell the story too. For example, when they show Andrew’s butt, you could tell that it grew.
I recommend this book to second and third graders who like funny books. This book teaches readers to not lie. Kids who like funny books would like this book because it is about a boy whose butt grows every time he lies. If this sounds like your book, go to the library and rent it or better yet, go buy it at a book store.
