Edward is a china rabbit that belongs to Abline. This book is set at The house on Egypt Street and other places throughout the book as Edward travels. Abilene is Edwards owner she loves him very much, but he is not as passionate about his love for her as she is for him. One day Edward gets separated from Abilene, and goes on an amazing adventure listening to his owners dreams, wishes, and past. Will Edward ever realize how much he means to Abilene. And Will Edward finally get back to Abilene, or will he live the rest of his life never having an owner again. Read the book to find out what happens to Edward.
I can relate to Abilene, because I am very close to an item that belongs to me. The book made me think about how sad I would be If I lost something. Edward taught me the lesson that I should be thankful for the nice things I have. After he was lost by Abilene, he realized that all the nice things he had went away. Also, Edward goes through a lot of scary things while he is away from Abilene. He was lost in the ocean for a long time. I can relate to Edward because I know what it is like to be scared. However, Edward teaches us that things will get better.
I think this book would be appropriate for 3rd and 4th graders. The reason I think this is because the plot is easy to understand and the words are not too hard to read. Even though I am in fifth grade it was still a great book to read. If you like fiction books then you will just fall in love with this book ,and just get lost in Edward’s amazing adventure.
