Stone Fox

I read a book named Stone Fox by John Reynolds Gardiner. It is about a little boy named Little Willy and a dog named Searchlight. He entered a dog race with Searchlight. They were trying to save his grandfather's farm. There were other contestants that might win. One of the contestants, Stone Fox, never lost a race. He wanted to win because he wanted to buy his land back. The night before the race Little Willy said to Stone Fox, "We both can't win, so I'm going to win." So Little Willy couldn't sleep and if Little Willy can't sleep then Searchlight can't sleep. The morning of the race both Little Willy and Searchlight were tired. Little Willy might not be able to win the race to save his farm...

My favorite part is the end of the story because a miracle happens. The part of the story that reminds me of my life is when my favorite character dies, because I was sad when someone I loved died. I think Stone Fox changed from the beginning of the story to the end because in the beginning Stone Fox was mean, and in the end he got nicer.

I recommend Stone Fox to dog lovers because Searchlight is a dog who listens to Little Willy and would anything for him!
