If you like adventurous and exciting books then you will love The Tale of Despereaux . This story is about a tiny mouse with humongous ears and clever eyes. Mice are not allowed to speak to humans because the humans might kill them. Despereaux thinks the human princess is pretty and he wants to meet her. The mouse council throws Desperaux in the dungeon for speaking to Princess Pea. Despereaux’s ability to tell stories saves him from being thrown in with the rats. If you want to find out more about Desperaux’s adventures you have to read the book.
I like the author’s writing style. I can see pictures in my mind. My favorite part is when Despereaux saves the princess from the dungeon, because he is brave. I felt relieved. I learned even though he was a small mouse he did big things on his own.
I recommend this fiction book to people ages 7 and up who like talking animals.
