Once upon a time there was a girl named Laura and she lived in a little log house in the woods. It was way back when. It was hard to live but they did. For food Pa, Laura’s dad, went hunting for meat and fish too. And for clothes Ma made them by sewing. They didn't have many stores so they could not buy any clothes. That is why they would have to make them themselves.
I think the book is great!! I like it because you learn a lot about the characters. My favorite person is Laura because she is adventurous and likes to explore. The illustrations are so bright and beautiful.
This book is recommended for 3rd grade through 6th grade. This book is part of a series. This is my favorite book ever!
