My grandmother had just finished telling me a story about witches. "One more?" I asked "No" she said, "Certain things are too horrible to talk about." "Does it have something to do with your missing thumb?" I asked.
This is a story about a little boy who lives with his grandmama in Norway. He goes through his life hearing stories about witches and the Grand High Witch. One day he goes to a hotel and the Grand High Witch is staying right below him. Things change and they may never be the same again.
I love the book because it gives you the inside view on real witches. My favorite part is when the boy is in the conference room with the Grand High Witch and she zaps one of the other witches. I liked how Roald Dahl made that part funny, instead of serious. The end made me think about what would happen next. I was hoping for a sequel.
I recommend this book for Roald Dahl fans and for people who like funny ghost stories.
