In this book, Ralphie from Ms. Frizzle?s class learns about the true facts about bats. Ralphie learns that bats have a longer life span than other mammals their size. He also learned that many bats don?t live in colonies. If a baby bat is in a large colony and gets lost, the baby sends out a special SOS call. It keeps calling until its mother finds it. She can tell by the pup?s voice and smell that the baby is hers.
My favorite character was Arnold because he was kind of a Fraidy cat. I would be a little afraid too if I were in Ms. Frizzle's class. I'm afraid of heights. If I were new to the class I would be afraid the class would make fun of my fear.
This book is a very interesting science book. I learned a lot from it. I found out that bats do suck blood, but not from humans. Bats take only a little pinch of blood from animals. I hope you get to read it someday!
