The story is about a girl named Ruby Bridges who has brown skin. Black and white kids weren't at the same school. A judge said it was against the law to be seperated. Ruby and three other kids were sent to an all white schools. White people were being mean to Ruby because of her skin color. Ruby prayed for the mean people. Ruby would still go to school even though they were mean people. Soon white and black people went to school all together.
My favorite part of the story is when Ruby stays happy even when she is alone. I like it because she keeps a smile on her face. Ruby is my favorite character because she is brave even when she feels alone. This story relates to my life because Ruby's history is my history. It has pictures that help to tell the story.
I think others should read this story because it tells you about the history of black people.
